Job Description

Ritman College invites qualified, experienced, and visionary education leaders to apply for the position of Principal. The Principal will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the College; ensure high standards of teaching, learning, discipline, staff performance, and student welfare; and promote the school’s vision, values, and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide effective leadership and day-to-day administration of Ritman College.
2. Oversee academic planning, curriculum delivery, teaching quality, assessment, and student achievement.
3. Supervise, mentor, appraise, and develop academic and non-academic staff.
4. Maintain a safe, disciplined, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.
5. Ensure compliance with applicable educational regulations, policies, and professional standards.
6. Drive the use of technology in teaching, learning, assessment, and school administration.
7. Build productive relationships with parents, staff, students, the school management, and relevant education stakeholders.
8. Prepare and implement school improvement plans, reports, budgets, and operational strategies as required.
9. Safeguard the welfare, security, and holistic development of all students.

Qualifications And Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant discipline; B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), B.A./B.Sc. with PGDE, Master’s degree, or a higher qualification will be an added advantage.
2. Strong computer literacy, with demonstrated competence in computer-based testing systems and database management.
3. At least three years’ cognate experience as a Principal in a reputable secondary school.
4. Registration or membership with a relevant professional body in the education sector.
5. Proven leadership, communication, organisational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
6. Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, staff development, student discipline, and educational innovation.
